RESEARCH STUDY #3 In Little  Neck NY

Now that we've caught up a bit, let's get back into chatting about Cox Technic!

If you read Part 1 and Part 2 of this blog series, you know that here at Care Chiropractic in Little Neck, NY, we specialize in Cox Technic, a non-surgical, gentle, research-driven, and effective treatment technique designed to treat your spinal needs.

COX Technic is known for it's research-backed nature, as it's supported by 10 federally funded studies through the American Health Care Policy & Research and the National Institute of Health. These studies were performed at prestigious institutions including the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine as well as at the National University of Health Sciences.

In this blog, we're going to chat about the 3rd of the 10 federally funded research studies backing Cox Technic flexion distraction and spinal decompression, which explored the efficacy of Cox Technic as it relates to the cervical spine (aka the part of your spine that is located in your neck!). Beyond that, we will discuss a plethora of research that backs Cox Technic as an effective treatment method for the cervical spine.

According to Cox Technic's website, "the third (federally funded) study was a clinical comparison study of cervical spine pain patients cared for with chiropractic flexion-distraction versus medical physical therapy treatment conducted at National University of Health Sciences with Loyola Stritch School of Medicine and Palmer Center for Research".

This incredibly effective and extensively researched technique deserves the federal funding that it has received.

COX TECHNIC & THE CERVICAL SPINE

In office here at Care Chiropractic in Little Neck, NY, we have 4 state-of-the-art Cox Technic tables, which we have proudly invested in over the last 27 years and seen firsthand the amazing benefits that Cox Technic brings to our patients' lives.

Chiropractic Little Neck NY Cox Technic Table

The Cox Technic Table has the ability to create a "push, pull, pumping" effect on the intervertebral discs located between each of your vertebrae (aka your spinal bones). Learn more about that here.

Let's chat about the plethora of research findings that have shown Cox Technic's ability to help a variety of conditions in the cervical spine (aka your neck) across multiple research studies:

  • C4-C7 intradiscal pressures were lowered by as much as 96-1583 mmHg with cervical spine flexion distraction protocols - aka Cox Technic (Gudavelli et. al., 2013)
  • Cervical spine disc herniation patients without myelopathy responded better to conservative treatment - aka chiropractic care/Cox Technic - when compared to patients who underwent surgery (Heckmann et. al., 1999)
  • Headaches were reduced with exercise and manipulation of the cervical spine - aka chiropractic care/Cox Technic (Jull et. al., 2002)
  • Cervical spinal stenosis & its radiculopathy - aka symptoms related to the disc herniation felt in the arm - was relieved with Cox Technic Flexion Distraction (Gudavalli et. al., 2015)

The best part is that this isn't even all of the research out there supporting Cox Technic & its ability to help with cervical spine conditions. On top of that, findings are developing even further as researchers are currently discovering more about Cox Technic's effectiveness as you read this!
