(Part 1)

There are countless reasons why Dr. Jacobs has chosen to be a Cox Technic provider since day 1 of his chiropractic career, with one of the main reasons centering around its research-driven nature.
Mixed with the results he sees daily in the clinical setting utilizing Cox Technic, the plethora of research backing it proves day in and day out that this spinal treatment technique is the best of the best.
RESEARCH STUDY #1
COX Technic is known for it's research-backed nature, as it's supported by 10 federally funded studies through the American Health Care Policy & Research and the National Institute of Health. These studies were performed at prestigious institutions including the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine as well as at the National University of Health Sciences.
In this blog, we're going to chat about the 1st of the 10 federally funded research studies backing Cox Technic flexion distraction and spinal decompression, which was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Gudavalli in 1998. If you follow us on social media, you'll see us reference this study often.
According to Cox Technic's website, This particular study was done with the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine, University of Illinois, Hines VA Hospital Staff, and Auburn University graduate student program.
In this study, researchers approached this study to explore Cox Technic "based on the hypothesis that the intradiscal pressure decreases during the procedure and may provide an opportunity for the disc bulge to reduce" (Gudavelli et. al., 1998).
The outcomes showed that their hypothesis was correct.
Performing Cox Technic on cadavers, the researchers found that with COX technic, the intervertebral disc pressure can drop as low as -192 mmHg (Gudavelli et. al., 1998). It has been shown that this negative pressure inside the disc could allow reduction in a disc bulge, like a "vacuum effect".
