Chiropractors in Little Neck have Extensive Schooling
One question that many people seem to have about chiropractors regards the amount of schooling required in order to practice. The truth is, chiropractors in Little Neck have extremely extensive schooling that enables them to treat a wide range of health issues effectively and safely.
EXTENSIVE EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
In order to become a chiropractor, you are required to meet some of the most demanding educational requirements of any healthcare profession. Most chiropractors have already taken close to four years of pre-med undergraduate courses before they even apply to chiropractic college. This includes biology, physics, psychology, inorganic and organic chemistry, all of the associated lab work, and others.
If you are accepted into an accredited chiropractic college, you’ll work through five academic years. Both of our Care Chiropractic Doctors in Little Neck attended New York Chiropractic College, where they underwent a highly competitive program including sciences such as neuroscience, anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, histology, pathology, diagnosis, and laboratory components. In fact, they both spent 12 months dissecting human cadavers in the anatomy lab. Academic criteria also includes a huge portion of time learning the hands-on adjusting techniques. During the last year of school, chiropractic students undergo a clinical internship where they diagnose and treat patients under the supervision of licensed Doctors of Chiropractic. Chiropractic schooling prepares the chiropractor to properly diagnose, adjust and treat patients from all walks of life.
In addition to fulfilling all criteria within their school to graduate, these individuals must take 4 national board examinations administered by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners. In some states, additional examinations are required.
The complete educational curriculum for chiropractors in Little Neck includes minimum classroom, laboratory, and clinical experience of 4,200 hours. The accrediting agency that approves the courses is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, which has been true for over 25 years. Chiropractors must be able to assess a specific health condition, provide appropriate advice and treatment, and refer patients to other health care professionals when necessary.
